My mind accept it without a doubt, its so easy to accept at first but the complexity of the reality makes me doubt about that generalization. It contrast with my dark skinned sister being priced as the beautiful, and enjoying of a popularity i wish i had (shared by others who had dark brown to black skin) It contrast with my inspiring uncle's (RIP), success story being a rector in the country's college. There is no doubt that we still have racist asholes, anti haitian ultra nacionalist, self haters, eurocentrist, hispanophiles, have found a couple of each one here, and left a mark in my perception of my own country through out my life. Also showed me that not everything is what it seems...or whatever translation to the phrase "no todo es lo que parece".
